faint is the light of a dream
the moon is up
and on my window pane
there's a light and it seems
sleep is a thing that we do
to seldomly
I believe
the room gets cold
and on my window pane
there's a light and it seems
sleep is a thing that we do
to hide away
hide...
dream as a way to stay
in this state of being in between
the rain and the dry desert mist
sleep is a thing that we do
to seldomly
I believe...
...that when we fall asleep
we fall alone
and smooth silk wings
grow out of our scared shoulders
like a lizard crawling out of a hole
in the rought desert sand
and our hawk-minds
prey on the unaware
and unreal creatures
of our scared imagination
turning in my bed
dreams are in my head
dreams get real
seering heat
learn to fly
live and die
half asleep, with our
window wide awake
our heads bow down
as we drink from an ancient desert lake
with winged beings circling high above us
and the scales of our backs
get covered in cold morning dew
as the mirror image
on the surface
starts bleeding through
nothing is what it seems
in between dreams
In dreams I feel
free and real
learn to fly
live and die
